Suren Nawalkar is the Head of Acceptance and Retail & Commerce for the UK & Ireland Division at Mastercard. In his role, Suren is responsible for managing and growing our merchant, our acquirer and our payment service provider partnerships.

Prior to this role Suren was Vice-President of Account Management and Business Development within the UK consumer issuing business. Suren was responsible for a number of retail bank partnerships such as HSBC, Santander and Tesco Bank.

Prior to joining Mastercard in 2015, Suren worked at American Express as Vice-President responsible for managing acquiring and issuing partnerships on the network across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Suren spent thirteen years at American Express and held various roles within Global Network Services, Merchant Acquiring and Performance Management teams.

Suren has a Masters degree in chemical engineering from Imperial College and an MBA from Cranfield School of Management.
