Open banking: What merchants need to know

Join The Payments Association’s Open Banking and Merchant Payments Working Groups for a roundtable session on open banking implementation.

With consumer adoption of open banking on the rise, and high-profile names including Amazon and eBay recently introducing open banking as a payment method, this is a crucial topic that should be on all merchants’ radars.

Featuring a presentation from open banking integrations pioneer, Wonderful, this session will focus on practical decisions around the integration of open banking payment methods. It will be an opportunity for sector experts to share the operational benefits and commercial advantages of open banking with merchants and address pain points in application, implementation, and management.

Focus session (60 minutes): Open banking essentials for merchants

  • What is the business case for open banking for merchants? How can it improve check-out flows and conversion rates and reduce operational costs?
  • How can merchants promote open banking payment options to their customers effectively?
  • What role can open banking play in preventing fraudulent transactions and/or minimising the negative effects of fraud?
  • How can open banking enhance data security and data protection systems for merchants?

  • Date: Wednesday 25th March
  • Time: 1-2pm
  • Venue: South Gallery Room 19 (please that the Gallery Rooms are located on LEVEL ONE — delegates should head up the stairs and follow event signage)

Please be aware you must have a ticket to Merchant Transact 360 to attend this session.

This session will operate on a first come, first serve basis.
